Baltic Premiere of Dea Jagić’s animated short ‘Four’ at Riga International Film Festival

Dea Jagić’s animated short ‘Four’ will have its Baltic premiere at Riga International Film
Festival (RIGA IFF) in Latvia, where it has been selected for the Short Film International
Competition. The film will be screened on 22 October at 6:30 PM as part of the ‘Pains, Trains and Other Mobiles’ programme, which explores journeys, different forms of movement, and the physical and emotional ‘baggage’ we carry with us.
‘Four’ follows four beings who, in a world without water, embark on a mystical journey, calling forth new life. The film runs for 6 minutes and 28 seconds and combines 2D and stop-motion animation.
Dea Jagić directed, shot and animated the film and created the production design. She co-wrote the screenplay with Božidar Trkulja. The film also features Lidija Kraljić, editor Iva Kraljević, post-production by Mario Kalogjera, and sound design by Tomislav Turković and Tonči Kušek. Marijana Veljović is the executive producer and Igor Grubić the producer.
The film had its world premiere on 25 March at Curta Cinema, the International Short Film Festival in Rio de Janeiro, as part of the international competition programme. It has since screened at Filmfest Dresden, Chilemonos International Animation Festival, Animafest Zagreb – where it had its Croatian premiere, ShorTS International Film Festival, Supertoon, and Flipbook Film Festival. Further festival screenings are scheduled for later this year at Bang Awards, Videomedeja, Croatia Film Days and the FIGA International Gbaka Animation Festival. ‘Four’ is produced by Kreativni sindikat and distributed by Bonobostudio.
RIGA IFF takes place in Riga from 15 to 25 October. ‘Four’ will be screened on 22 October at 6:30 PM in Forum Cinemas, 12th Auditorium, as part of the Short Film International Competition.
